Hi teachers! Are you looking for a fun way to have students practice their sight words? Look no further!
I’ve had a ton of requests for some more of my sight word sentences, so today I’m sharing the second grade sight word sentence printables with you.
Each worksheet has the word along with a funny sentence. Students will practice tracing the word, reading the word, then writing it on their own.
Students will also cut out the letters then glue them on the sheet to spell the word correctly to complete a sentence. This activity is great for fine-motor skills and spelling practice!
Next they will write the word to complete the sentence.
Finally they will make up their own sentence using their newly learned sight word! The repetition along with the variety of activities really helps students remember their sight words!
This download includes 46 Second grade level sight words from the Dolch sight word list.

I love these worksheets! I looked through the comments to see if anyone had asked if you could make them using D’Nealian writing. We will introduce cursive at the end of 2nd, so when teaching handwriting, we use D’Nealian. I would love to use them if you could offer this. Thanks!
I love these sight word printable’s!! My son is in 1st grade. He has 100 words he has to learn by the end of the year. I’ve printed off all the pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade sight word printable’s. I’m still missing some words is was hoping you could make a list for me. It would be greatly appreciated.
I’m missing: They, Than, Time, Words, What, Way, Water, About, More, Other, If, Number, Called, Each, Day, Long, People, and Part…..
Thanks if you have time and could do it.
Hi Tiffany,
I’m so sorry, unfortunately I don’t have the time to do custom sheets right now.
Hi quick question how do you download these worksheets they are amazing! Also is there a grade level three?
Hi Lauren,
Yes, http://www.confessionsofahomeschooler.com/blog/2014/09/3rd-grade-sight-word-sentences.html
These are wonderful, thanks so much for putting them out there for homeschooling to use. This is the first time home schooling my Granddaughter and she is having problems in reading and Math. This one helps a lot.
Thank you from a special Ed. Teacher!
Thank you for sharing this information, and for making available – free – the resources you designed. My 7-yr old grandson has been tagged with dyslexia; and his reading is not to par with his peers in the 2nd grade. He scores high on his reading tests when he uses the headsets when he is read to; yet next year (3rd grade) these tests will not incorporate reading to him. He is disheartened that he was scheduled to attend summer school – again. So I am making myself available 2 hours a week to help him with his reading. I’ve printed your sight words, and I like it that you incorporate writing these words out too! Tomorrow we begin this wonderful journey with reading at our local library, and I pray that by next school year he will be ready for 3rd grade. Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated. Again, thank you for all you have provided for free. With heartfelt gratitude, Providencia
Thank you! This is such a Blessing!
These are amazing, thank you so much! <3
Thank you so much for these. My daughter, almost 9, is dyslexic and needs the practice but so many sight word worksheets are aimed at Kindy kids and are quite babyish. These are great.
